Aachen - Bombaye. Cycle? No problem!

Hey folks, whats goin on?

Recently I took my cycle and went to Bombaye. No, I'm not kidding, seriously - its just a two hours ride from Aachen, Germany.
The ride is not exactly flat though - some smooth hills around the dutch-belgium border make you paddle up and roll down over and over again.

First sign of existence - a road signpost at the junction in Warsage, the neighbour town.

So, what's goin on there? Except for the name Bombaye and Bombay aka Mumbai do have some things in common. First thing: they DO have cattle in Bombaye. Those cows were eating their grass at least as peaceful as hindu cows do. Propably there are not many people taking photos of them. One of them was pretty curious and stood right next to me and propably would have licked my camera's lense if hadnt paid attention.

Another thing - which turned out pretty useful: some people do throw their trash out on the road. A thrown-out TV-set that simply didn't fit in those glass contianers served me as a handy tripod to get a snap of me right in front of the official "You're entering Bombaye sign". That TV-tripod became necessary because I forgot to bring my own and Bombayes roads are not exactly crowded. In 10 minutes I just saw two kids on their bikes telling me "Bonjour, monsieur!" Seems like they're speakin french there. It's maybe because they dont have 20 million people living there, it's a fairly a small town.

Still, it features a church, a pub and a soccer ground - everything a village in Belgium needs, but no more than that. Seems like it has recovered from WW2 pretty well - the ruins of Fort Neufchateau which was destroyed in a big battle is pretty close

So I turned my bike around and made my way back to Germany.
